Privacy Policy
ThorGuard Defense LLC (“ThorGuard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides managed cybersecurity services to professional services firms. We are based in Chicago, Illinois. This policy explains what information we collect through thorguarddefense.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We practice what we sell, so we collect as little as possible and we tell you plainly what we do with it.
Section 01Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you request a resource such as our incident response policy template, or contact us through the site, we collect the information you submit. This is typically your email address, and may include your name, firm name, and the contents of your message if you provide them. Providing this information is always your choice.
Information collected automatically. Our website runs on WordPress and uses a small number of functional cookies necessary for the site to operate, along with standard server logs that record technical details such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this information to keep the site working, secure, and improving. We do not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies.
What we do not collect. We do not process payments through this website and we do not ask for financial information, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive personal data through it. Please do not submit confidential or sensitive information through our forms.
Section 02How We Use Your Information
- To deliver what you requested. If you ask for a template or other resource, we use your email address to send it to you.
- To respond to you. If you contact us, we use your information to reply.
- To send relevant communications. If you download one of our resources or otherwise share your business email with us, we may follow up by email about cybersecurity topics and ThorGuard services relevant to your firm. Every marketing email we send includes a working unsubscribe link, and we honor opt outs promptly as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
- To operate and protect the site. We use technical log data to maintain security, diagnose problems, and understand how the site is used.
- To meet legal obligations. We may use or retain information where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Section 03Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers we need to operate, and only for the purposes described in this policy:
- Email and marketing platform. The provider we use to deliver resources and send email communications stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf.
- Website hosting and infrastructure. Our hosting and related providers process technical data needed to serve the site.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ThorGuard, our clients, or others. If ThorGuard is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Section 04How We Protect It
We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited information we hold, including access controls, multifactor authentication on our accounts, and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but protecting information is the entire business we are in and we treat yours accordingly.
Section 05How Long We Keep It
We keep your email address and related contact information for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications or as long as we have an active relationship with you, plus any period required for legal or recordkeeping purposes. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending marketing email promptly and retain only what is needed to honor your opt out.
Section 06Your Choices and Rights
- Unsubscribe. Use the link in any email we send, or email us directly, and we will remove you from marketing communications.
- Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, state law may give you specific privacy rights, and we will honor requests consistent with applicable law.
- Cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site’s essential functions may depend on functional cookies.
Section 07Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and business professionals. They are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Section 08United States Only
ThorGuard serves clients in the United States and this website is intended for US visitors. Information we collect is stored and processed in the United States. If you visit from outside the US, you understand your information will be processed here.
Section 09Third Party Links
Our site and materials may link to third party websites, including the primary sources we cite in our research. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for.
